Imaging Specialists started out in 1988 as a prepress trade shop, so we have over 20 years in the industry. We have experience with books, directories, periodicals, labels, cards, and much more.

Our experience allows us to identify and correct potential problems in the design stages of a project, before they cost you money and time.

Newspaper

We have designed and printed editions of the Sparta Lions paper and an award-winning reprint of the Alleghany Star Vol. 1, No. 1 including new and original ads and text.

Books

Imaging Specialists can help with every step of your book design and development from page layout to printing.

We launched our own imprint, Star Route Books, in the spring of 2011. Learn more at our blog.

We use Adobe InDesign CS3, arguably the industry standard, which gives us total control over text and graphics placement, folios, tables of contents, indexing, etc.

ISI has a long history of prepress book, text book, directory and periodical work for companies including RR Donnelley & Sons, Quebecor Printing and Cadmus Communication Services, Edwards & Broughton, Delmar, and Craftsman Printing.

Periodicals

We strive to create newsletter and periodical styles that reflect our customers' style and tastes.

For example, the Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust newsletter is very different from the Backwoods Beat, or the Piney Creek United Methodist, but each one has a style unique to its purpose.
